Terms of Service
Summary: StepsStreak is a 21-day walking challenge app. You pay once — no subscription, no renewal. You use it at your own risk and we're not responsible for any health or fitness outcomes. Be reasonable — these terms reflect that.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of StepStreak — the iOS app published on the App Store, also marketed as "StepsStreak" on our website at stepsstreak.com (together, "the App", "we", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use StepsStreak. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement and are legally able to enter into these Terms.
3. License to Use the App
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use StepsStreak on iOS devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use and in accordance with these Terms and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
4. Purchases
StepsStreak unlocks its 21-day challenge through a single in-app purchase ("StepsStreak Pro") processed by Apple. By purchasing, you agree that:
- One-time purchase, no subscription. You pay once. Nothing auto-renews. There is no recurring charge.
- Apple handles billing. Payment is charged to the Apple ID associated with your device at the time of purchase.
- Restore across devices. The purchase is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any device you sign into with the same Apple ID via the "Restore purchase" button.
- Refunds via Apple. All refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple's standard refund policy (reportaproblem.apple.com). We do not process refunds directly.
- Price and availability may change for future buyers, but any purchase you have already made is not affected.
5. Health Disclaimer
StepsStreak is a motivational tool and is not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Step counts and goals are estimates and should not be relied upon for medical purposes.
Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new fitness routine — especially if you have a pre-existing medical condition, are pregnant, or have any concerns about your ability to walk safely. You use StepsStreak at your own risk.
6. Your Account
StepsStreak requires you to sign in with Apple or Google to use paid features. You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account. You can delete your account and all associated server-side data at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the app. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
7. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
- Use the App for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App or its related systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality, or tamper with step-count data to fake progress.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or your purchase.
8. Intellectual Property
StepsStreak, including its design, branding, source code, content, and the StepsStreak name and logo, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights.
9. Your Data
Challenge records, day history, walks, and streak are stored locally on your device. Account information (name, email, user ID, purchase status, challenge timestamps) is stored with our authentication and payment providers. Full details — including the list of service providers and your deletion rights — are in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
10. Third-Party Services
StepsStreak relies on the following third-party services. Your use of the App through these services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their behaviour:
- Apple HealthKit, StoreKit, and Sign in with Apple (Apple Inc.)
- Google Sign-In (Google LLC), only if you choose Google as your login method.
- Supabase (authentication and database)
- RevenueCat (purchase verification and restore)
- Mixpanel (privacy-friendly product analytics — no IDFA, no cross-app tracking)
- Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting)
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that step counts will always be accurate (Apple Health is the source of truth).
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App — whether based on contract, tort, strict liability, or any other legal theory — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct).
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including breach of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device, or delete your account permanently via Settings → Delete account.
14. Apple-Specific Terms (Minimum Required by Apple)
- Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and us, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Scope of licence. Your licence to use the App is limited to a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple-branded device you own or control, subject to the Usage Rules set out in the App Store Terms of Service.
- Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance and support services for the App.
- Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims you or a third party have relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including but not limited to product-liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer-protection or similar legislation.
- Intellectual-property rights. In the event of a third-party claim that the App, or your possession and use of the App, infringes that third party's intellectual-property rights, we — not Apple — will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be surfaced in-app. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless mandatory local consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring claims in your local courts — in which case those rights are not affected.
