Answers to common questions about StepsStreak.
Why isn't my step count updating?
StepsStreak reads data from Apple Health. Make sure you've granted Health access by going to Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → StepsStreak, and enable Steps under Read access. Then reopen the app.
Does the app work on simulator or only real devices?
HealthKit requires a real iPhone or iPad to return live step data. The simulator will always show zero steps.
What counts as completing a day?
Walking 10,000 or more steps in a single calendar day (midnight to midnight, local time) counts as a completed day and keeps your streak alive.
What happens if I miss a day?
Every challenge includes one grace day — miss a single day and your streak survives. Miss a second day and the challenge ends; you can start a fresh 21-day challenge from the app at any time.
Does the app run in the background?
Background step delivery is not enabled in v1. Open the app to get your latest step count. Your steps are always recorded by Apple Health in the background — StepsStreak just reads them when you open the app.
Is StepsStreak a subscription?
No. StepsStreak Pro is a one-time purchase — you pay once and it's yours. There's no auto-renewal, no recurring charge, and no upsell.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Sign in with the same Apple ID you used originally, then open StepsStreak and tap "Restore purchase" on the paywall, or go to Settings → Restore purchase. Your one-time purchase is tied to your Apple ID.
How do I get a refund?
All StepsStreak refunds go through Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the StepsStreak purchase, and request a refund. We don't process refunds directly.
Where is my data stored?
Your step data stays inside Apple Health — we only read it and never send it anywhere. Your challenge progress, day history, and walks are stored locally on your device. Your account information (name, email, a user ID, and purchase status) is stored with our authentication provider (Supabase) and purchase provider (RevenueCat). See our Privacy Policy for the full list.
How do I delete my account and data?
Inside the app: Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all associated data from our backend. Deleting the app from your device additionally removes the local challenge and streak data. To also remove step data from Apple Health, go to Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → StepsStreak → Delete All Data from "StepsStreak".
